Production Rates

You use the Production rates data grid to define the parameters for the production rate.

You can define the parameters for production rate rules in the Production rates data grid, or you can use the spreadsheet view. To access the spreadsheet view, select Spreadsheet > Enable Spreadsheet Views, and then select the Production Rates spreadsheet. When the Production Rates spreadsheet is enabled, it replaces the Production rates data grid in the Mining, Stockpiles, and Underground tabs.

Columns in the Production Rates Data Grid

Column Description
Active
  • Selected: The production rate rule is applied to the locations.
  • Cleared: The Production rate rule is not applied to the locations.

Tip: When you clear the Active check box, you make the resource rate rule ineffective without deleting the rule.

Locations

The location to which the production rate rule applies.

You can create rules for multiple locations. However, some parameters are best used with a single location, for example, MAX_RATE. If you define multiple locations, the parameter and its value are applied to each location individually, not to the combined locations.

Tip: You can use wildcards to specify more than one location. To specify the locations using the Wildcard Expression Builder, click the Ellipsis button.

Resources

The resource that represents the crew and equipment.

You can specify multiple resources. For medium-term and long-term scheduling, each resource usually represents a fleet of equipment and crews. For short-term scheduling, each individual machine and its crew are usually represented by a resource.

You assign a resource to a location using the MAX_RATE parameter. The MAX_RATE parameter defines the maximum rate that can be achieved by the resource in the location, or, if multiple locations are defined, in each location, assuming the value is less than or equal to the resource capacity. The resource capacity and maximum rate are both limiting parameters, so the lesser of the two values is applied to the resource during scheduling.

If you define multiple resources, the parameter and its value are applied to each individual resource, not to the combined resources.

Tip: You can use wildcards to specify more than one resource. To specify the resources using the Wildcard Expression Builder, click the Ellipsis button.

Parameter The parameter that is applied to the locations.
Value The value for the parameter.
Date/event

The date on which the production rate rule is applied.

You can use a calendar date or an event. The date or event plus the Delay determines the actual start date.

You use the Calendar button to select a date from a calendar. You use the Ellipsis button to select an event using the Event Builder.

Delay

The delay after the Date/event before the production rate rule is applied.

The default delay is 0. The delay can be any positive number.

Note: Part days are expressed as decimals, not in HH:MM:SS format.

Usually, delays are used when the Date/event is an event, and the actual date that the event occurs is not known until the schedule is run.

Comments Any notes you want to record about the production rate rule.
